Sidewalk were Paul Tams and Sarah Lee. Paul was an old friend from the world of Doctor Who, who ended up working for me, designing the record sleeves and also coming to Detroit and L.A for the Motorcity recording sessions, where he organised the schedule of which artist was in the studio at which time. He now lives in Blackpool and has become a notorious drag queen called Diva Bliss. Sarah Lee was the daughter of famous actress Lynda Barron and in the 1980's she was the Production secretary of the Doctor Who office. We all became great friends and in the end she and Paul teamed up to make this record. The idea of the song came from my American live in partner at the time, Steven Wagner, who I lived with for three years. He wanted to do a song with an Abba feel, particularly in the direction of "Does Your Mama Know", so "Take Away The Rain" was born and released on my short lived High Energy label called Reflection, distributed by Pinnacle. Anyway, Paul was determined to have a video at the time, even though we couldn't afford one, so he arranged one himself. They filmed it in the pouring rain at Biggin Hill airfield, just further east of East London. Although it looks cheesy now, remember this was filmed in 1986, when it was much more expensive to make videos than it is now. It makes me laugh a bit, but I figured it was worth putting up if nothing else than for its historical value.
