PRESENTED BY BARBARA RAPPAPORT
Warren Hood grew up in the middle of the Austin music scene as the son of legendary fiddle player Champ Hood. He began playing classical violin at age 11 and crossed over into jazz, bluegrass and country as a teenager. Warren performed as a soloist with the Austin symphony at age 17 before moving to Boston to study at the Berklee College of music. Upon graduation Warren moved back to Austin where he formed his current band Warren Hood and the Goods. The band writes most of their own material ranging in styles from blues to bluegrass, county, rock, cajun, jazz, swing and soul. They will be hitting the studio in early 2011 to record their first album to be release in late spring. You can catch Warren Hood and the Goods at Momo's on 6th street in Austin every Sunday night.
