Dublin/Cardiff 5 piece The North Sea have played a string of packed out shows recently with the success of winning the semi finals of Irelands biggest battle of the bands contest ,The King Kong Club, still buzzing around them. Including headline slots in Dublin's premier music venue, Whelan's. The band were formed in early 2010 through a shared love of early nineties indie and have spent the first part of the year writing and rehearsing their sparkling set. They are soon to enter the studio to record an EP of their most popular tunes, including Against the Ropes and Only Watching. The North Sea are also playing two shows this November in London, supporting London band The Laurel Collective. They were also featured on 2XM, RTE 2FMs alternative music digital broadcast, where they have been hailed as 'Dublin's fastest rising stars'. With the Finals of The King Kong Club in December as well as numerous dates performing in Dublin, the close of 2010 will be a busy and exciting time for this fresh new band.
