TODAYS SHOW IS BROUGHT TO YOU IN ASSOCIATION WITH http://www.duplication.ie
PRESENTED BY PAULINE FREEMAN
Brought up in Navan in a family of six boys, Simon Fagans musical career started at an early age when he joined the local brass band before being sent to school on a music scholarship. He went on to study trumpet and composition in both the Royal Irish Academy of Music and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
After graduating he spent a couple of years singing with a number of bands in both Glasgow and Dublin before going solo in late 2007. It was then that he started writing music closer to him and has since opened for both Lionel Richie and Smokey Robinson and performed lead vocals at the Beatles Love Concert in the National Concert Hall.
Simon uses elements of jazz and soul to produce his own take on old-fashioned rock n roll. His debut EP, Hired And Fired, was released through SiAn Records in early March 09 with tours in Ireland and the UK and Egypt, which saw him play over 60 gigs and appear and over 20 radio shows including 9 BBC radio shows and co-present the Big Drive Home on Cairos biggest pop station, Nile FM.
Currently Fagan and entourage are touring throughout Ireland to promote his new single 'Falling Into You', with gigs in Dublin, Limerick and Cork and along with National radio interviews.
Simon will spend the rest of the year giging in Ireland and the UK before returning to the studio in January with his production collaborator Martin Quinn (Brian Kennedy, Juliet Turner, Turn). Where Simon will record his debut album, due for release in early 2010.
