PRESENTED BY TOM MILLETT
Heliopause began with the quiet sketchbook tracks created by Singer/Songwriter/Artist Richard Davis. They were low-key songs made up of layered guitar and layered vocals. Soft and haunting.
Towards the end of 2005, Michael Kinloch (Tracer AMC) and Niall Harden (Iden Green) came on board to help perform the tracks live, breathing new life into them and creating the energetic tracks they now are...and so Heliopause began...
Heliopause became Belfast's exciting newcomers to the already vibrant and creative scene. Making their debut in February 2006, their sound has been compared to the likes of American Analog Set and they have entertained audiences across Ireland, supporting Quasi, Gravenhurst, Frightened Rabbit and New York's Jeffrey & Jack Lewis.
They finished 2006 supporting Cashier no.9 at the BBC Electric Proms Next Stage Tour. 2007 saw them headline the closing night of Belfast's Curfew Festival, and also perform various gigs in Berlin including LadyFest with Therese from Party Weirdo.
Heliopause is still ever changing. Therese has now joined the band and Michael is stepping down...but not before their first release! A recent session for Radio 1 became their first radio airplay and their first EP is currently being recorded at Belfast's Start Together studio in the Oh Yeah building. The EP will be released on Furious Tradesman label in the coming months.
