The first Bargrooves release of 2011 is upon us and with 'Bargrooves Collection Volume Two: Spring' there is no doubt that Spring is already in full swing. Springtime means freshness, newness and rebirth and here Bargrooves tastemaker Andy Daniell whips up his latest deluxe mix of house music showcasing what's on trend for the season ahead.
This is Bargrooves take on what's going to be making all the right noises across more discerning dancefloors (and bars) in Clubland and it's all available as the full a la carte, DJ friendly menu with full length versions as we come to expect, alongside a bonus mix from Andy Daniell.
This fresh, new or reborn tag extends across each and every one of the 25 tracks featured in this package. Music from Kings of Tomorrow 'Take Me Back', STUDIO APARTMENT featuring Rae 'Your Words', Olav Basoski 'New Day', Dualton 'Formula', Tom Middleton 'Cicadas' and Bass Kleph & Filthy Rich 'These Mornings' are all 100% box fresh and brand new for 2011.
Sandy Rivera has made a phenomenal return to prominence over recent months, first with 'Hide U' and now his brand new Kings of Tomorrow track featuring a brand new vocalist, April. Any new release from Kings of Tomorrow is a special occasion and this beautiful song proves once again that quality never fails. Advance copies of the Basoski and Dualton releases have been personally requested by Pete Tong and Annie Mac, and with Olav's recent releases flying high on Beatport, it's certainly true that Bargrooves is featuring all the right records. The Mark Knight Remix of Tensnake's 'Coma Cat' and Nouveau Yorican (aka Laidback Luke and Gina Turner) production 'Chiuso' have been two of the most in demand tracks since the start of the year.
Onto what's been reborn in 2011, Bargrooves has also always been about re-discovering some magical moments in house music and bringing them to a wider audience. Julie McKnight's 'Home' is given a rework by the Audiowhores; it slipped out right at the end of 2010 and continues to be well supported. Another fine moment is the Blaze track, 'The Garden', a perfect, soulful way to end proceedings.
With this new collection, we continue the new 'seasonal' based format to the already highly successful Bargrooves digital albums series. We've upped the content quota but maintained quality and prices so value has indeed increased.
