Secured by Design - Mobile Film Festival Stand Up 4 Human Rights
par Mobile Film Festival 2018 - Human Rights UK
Synopsis : Security control is an ubiquitous feature of London's urban landscape. The city has one of the highest densities of government surveillance cameras in the world. Besides this, there are scores of private cameras, in shops, parking lots, public-private spaces, etc. Despite their dubious record in helping to prevent or solve crime, surveillance cameras spy on an average Londoner around 300 times per day according to the NGO Big Brother Watch, thus questionning individual liberties. Since 2005, the Mobile Film Festival reveals and promotes new talents thanks to an international competition open to the largest number, with very simple rules : 1 mobile - 1 minute - 1 film. For its 14th edition celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, participants have made short films on the theme « Stand UP For Human Rights ». 51 films from 19 countries have been selected for the competition.
