At the AXA head office in Paris this week, Henri de Castries, AXA's CEO, presented the new strategic plan called "Ambition AXA". The financial and operational objectives are oriented to boost profitability and to reduce debt. The ambition is to double in size by 2015. Expansion in high profitable markets may include future acquisitions; Brazil and Algeria are countries amongst others that have been named. British Insurance has confirmed the opening of a Lloyd's service company in Sydney Australia. The new unit will act as a gateway for all property treaty reinsurance businesses coming from Australia and New Zealand.
