HP Omnicept featuring Columbia University | HP

Columbia University’s Computer Music Center is using the HP Omnicept VR platform and HP Reverb G2 Omnicept Edition VR headset to lower the barrier to learning complex, technical, historical analogue music synthesizers, helping students create “happy accidents” faster. Using HP Omnicept’s bioanalytics capabilities such as eye tracking, heart rate monitoring and pupil dilation detection, Seth Cluett and Suzanne Thorpe are able to identify the triggers of stressors in students working with technical historical music equipment for the first time. This allows them to better design an introduction to the space that reduces the overall fear for students when interacting with the equipment.
